Fire Danger Raised to High

New wildfire danger signs are now installed throughout our area as part of the Wildfire Ready Neighbors (WRN) program, in partnership with the Washington State Department of Natural Resources (DNR).

You’ll see these signs at:

  • SR-510 @ Yelm Roundabout
  • SR-507 entering Yelm from Pierce County
  • SR-507 @ 133rd

(Photo taken day of installation on June 25th)

These signs are updated to reflect current local wildfire conditions, and as of TODAY, the fire danger level in Yelm and Rainier has been raised to HIGH. This means vegetation is dry and fires can start and spread more easily — use extreme caution with any outdoor activities.

🟢 Low | 🔵 Moderate | 🟡 High | 🟠Very High | 🔴 Extreme

We’re proud to partner with DNR to help keep our communities informed and wildfire ready. Let’s all do our part to prevent human caused fires and stay alert during wildfire season. Stay informed. Stay prepared.
